Welcome to Massasoit Community College!
Preparing for College Reading II is one of
three three-credit courses offered by the English Department to serve students
whose placement test scores indicate that they may not be prepared for college level
courses. PCRII classes are small, with a maximum of twenty students, to
allow more intensive teaching and learning. Much of PCR II is aimed at
improving students' academic performance through improved study skills and better
notetaking, textbook reading, and time management. Students are also
introduced to techniques for outlining and organizing information. Writing
about reading is a significant component of PCR II.
