Academic Interests:
I am interested in all areas of physics, especially acoustics. I teach
most of the physics courses we offer, as well as some courses in mathematics.
I also regularly teach "The History and Development of Music" in the
Humanities Division. I have developed a course which looks at sound
and music from a physicist's point of view, called "The Science of
Music."
Other
Interests: Playing piano, listening to all kinds of music, bicycling,
walking, reading books and articles in English and in German, and
travel, especially in Europe.
