Massachusetts CIS Make Informed Choices
The Massachusetts
Career Information System (CIS) is an online tool to help
you explore occupations and find the right education or
training program once you have made your career
decisions.
There are three categories of
information: 1. Occupations and
Employment You can get:
- Detailed descriptions of hundreds of occupations;
- Tools to help you generate a list of the occupations
that match your skills, abilities, and interests;
- Information on writing resumes and looking for jobs;
- Information helpful to people who want to work for
themselves; and
- Information about 'non-traditional' employment for
women.
2. Education and
Training You can:
- Explore training opportunities including two-and
four-year colleges and universities across the country;
- Learn about career training availability in
Massachusetts;
- Create a list of schools that meet your needs; and
- Investigate admissions requirements and financial aid.
3. Other CIS
Components Targeted to instructors,
this special section helps them explore career education
activities for their students. There is:
- An assessment link;
- A section on learning activities;
- Occupations/Skills matching;
- The O*NET Interest Profiler; and
- The O*NET Work Importance assessment.
How to use MassCIS Use of MassCIS is free to all Massachusetts
residents. A simple registration is required. In order to sign
in each time you use MassCIS
simply:
- Use a Career Center User
Name and Password
or
- Select your city or town.
- Enter the 5-digit zip code for the city or town you
have selected.
- Select the user category that best describes you.
